Target/Focused Screening
NL-OPENSCREEN will assemble high-quality targeted/focused compound libraries aimed at specific target protein families that will provide higher success rates.
Often, the screening process can be made more efficient by taking advantage of the available knowledge about the target. A vast medicinal chemistry experience built over the years has resulted in the generation of targeted libraries which consist of molecules specifically designed to target one protein family. Some of these libraries are derived from commercial sources, including sets of kinase and GPCR targeted libraries. In addition, our chemistry partners contribute unique targeted libraries. These libraries provide higher hit rates and better overall success. Where such libraries are not available but structural information is, a compound library can be designed from the available compounds within the NL-OPENSCREEN database using cheminformatics approaches. A subset of the total collection is then cherry-picked to create a focused library, leading to a higher success rate.
